Been Making Stuff

Hi there!

My name is Johnny, and I made all the stuff available on this website lol. “About Me” sections have always been painful for me because I’m so incredibly awkward. Anyway, you clicked the “About” button for a reason so, here we go. Warning - this will be a little vulnerable and maybe a little weird lol. I’ve always used art as an outlet and explored many different kinds of media throughout my life. As a kid, I liked to draw. I got in trouble a lot for not paying attention and drawing on things that I wasn’t supposed to like my desk, in books, on my homework, the walls, etc. In first grade, I drew a heart on the classroom rug, in chalk, that led to a meeting with the principal lol. Ya know, just that kid that was always unintentionally doing the wrong thing. In high school, I was in AP ceramics putting together a portfolio before I decided college wasn’t for me. I also painted a lot with oil, watercolor, and acrylic paints throughout the years but never really felt like I developed my own “style”. As an adult, I spent many year as a staff photographer for a local snorkel company where I got to take pictures and film marine life- so fun! On the side, I’ve taken photos for misc. sporting events, supplement companies, and real estate. Then slowly gained a passion for maternity as friends and extended family started to grow their own families. In my free time, I’ve been loving alcohol inks, watercolor, resin, and acrylic pours. These mediums have been fascinating. They offer minimal control, which has been challenging for me as a human being because I am very much the “fixer” type, and honestly, I usually don’t know when to quit. I’d rather die than give up on something I feel like I could fix or make better. Sometimes I try too hard and it quits me. It’s probably my best and worst quality. I’m also incredibly sentimental. These characteristics resulted in a lot of ‘wasted’ materials as well as some of my all-time favorite pieces. With that being said, I am very proud of what I’ve put together. Each piece, as elaborate or simple as they are, owns quite a bit of real estate on heart purely from the emotional vested interest and stories that have gone into anything I’ve made or shot.
